12/30 - 1/7 Rice Cooking Contest (Tu Trong Village - Thanh Hoa)
3 - 5 Horse Race Festival, both women and men particapate. (Quang Ngai Province)
4 - 5 The Lieu Doi Wrestling Festival (Lieu Doi Village - Nam Dinh). The Festival is held in honor of a young member of the Doan family who defeated the northern invaders and was also worshipped as the founding father of Wrestling in the village
5 Dong Da Festival (Ha Noi) is held to celebrate the Dong Da victory, in which King Quang Trung defeated the Qing invading army in 1789, and also to commemorate all those who laid down their lives during the battle.
6 The Co Loa Festival (Ha Noi) is held in honor of King Thuc An Duong Vuong who built the Au Lac Kingdom and the Co Loa fortress to fight the battle against enemies in III B.C. The festivlas involves wrestling, swing, tugs of war, rice cooking contest, human chess, card game.., folk theatrical plays (cheo).
Bat Trach Trong Chum Festival (Vinh Lac, Vinh Phuc). The time of displaying the love for agricultures as well as for humans.
8 The Vieng Festival (Nam Dinh) - New Year Fair Festival. A chance for people to display crafts, bonsai, rare trees, ets...
10 The Trieu Khuc Festival (Ha Noi) in honor of King Phung Hung.
13 The Lim Festival (Quan Ho, Bac Ninh) in honor of Mr. Hieu Trung Hoa, the founder of the "Quan Ho" singing style.
15 The Va Festival (Ha Tay) to celebrate the day the mountain God, Tan Vien, won the battle against Thuy Tinh, the sea devil. It involves religious ceremonies and fishing games.
Februarary
6 The Trung Sisters Ceremonial Day (Ha Noi) - in memory of the two heroines stood up and rebelled against the domination of China in the 1st century.
12 The Duong Lam Ceremonial Day (Ba Vi, Ha Tay) in memory of Phung Hung, the the leader of the Farmer Revolution in the 8th century.
15 The Huong Pagoda Festival My Duc - ha Son Binh
24 The Ba Trieu Ceremony (Hau Loc - Thanh Hoa), to remember Queen Trieu Trinh Nuong. She died at age of 23, lead the battle against China in 225 A.D.
March
6 Tay Phuong Pagoda Festival (Ha Tay) - involves Buddhist ceremonies, ceremonies for beseeching blessings and luck. The pagoda is famous for its architecture, that was built during the Le Dynasty, and wood sculptures (statues, columns and beams in the pagoda).

7 - 8 The Lang Pagoda Festiva (Ha Noi)
10 - 13 King Hung Ceremonial Day (Vinh Phuc) - National Day - The main day is March 10th, the festival offers an opportunity for Vietnamese to visit their land of the origin, and a chance to consume Banh Chung.
The Hoa Lu Festival (Ninh Binh) - to remember in honor the great Kings, Dinh Tien Hoang, and Le Dai Hanh.
24 The Dinh Bang Festival (Bac Ninh) - religious ceremonies and games such as: cock fight, and "quan ho" song performances on boats.
April
1 The Dong Sam Festival (Thai Binh) - To celebrate the tradition of well known sivler engraving of the village.
8 The Dau Pagoda Festival (Thuan Thanh - Ha Bac) -
9 The Giong Festival (Ha Noi) - to commemorate the young hero, Thanh Giong, or Phu Dong Thien Vuong, fought against China at a very young age.

5 The Sea Bathing Festival (Nha Trang) - everyone in dip in the sea water to destroy bacterias, and to promote health.
15 - 17 The Den Chem Festival (Ha Noi) - to commemorate Ly Ong Trong, a Vietnamese hero under the Hung Dynasty. He helped China destroyed the Mongolian Vikings threat agaisnt China.
June
1 - 7 The Tra Co Village Festival (Quang Ninh) - An event to celebrate the formation of the village 600 years ago.
16 - 26 The Quan Lan Village Festival (Quang Ninh) - The celebrate the victory against the Mongolian Vikings in 1288 lead by the famous General Tran Khanh Du \.
16 The Nghinh Ong Festival (Tien Giang)
July
7 - 10 Dien Hon Chen Festival
9 - 10 Dao Xa Village Festival (Vinh Phuc) - to commemorate the survey made by Commander-in-Chief Ly Thuong Kiet of this portion of the river with to plan of building up defense positions to encounter the Sung invaders. It involves a boat race, as a reminder of activities associated with the defensive preparations made during the Ly Dynasty in this part of the country.
15 The Long Chu Festival - Quang Nam - Da Nang
25 The Duong Xa Festival (Ha Noi) is held in honor of Queen Nguyen Phi Y Lan. The Queen was famous for her domestic security policy, agriculture policy, and looked after the welfare of the people.
August
9 Buffalo Fighting Festival - Hai Phong
15 Mid-Autumn Festival - or Children Festival (nation wide) -
16-20 Tran Hung Dao Festival - celebrates at the following temples: Co Trach, Kiep Bac, Bao Loc, Quat, and An Cu. The festival is held in the great memory of the Great Commander-in-Chief Tran Hung Dao.
The Con Son Temple Festival (Hai Duong) - to commemorate the country's hero - Nguyen Trai.
September
13 The Keo Pagoda Festival (Thai Binh) - commemorates Khong Lo, a Buddhist monk who had a super medical knowledge. He helped King Ly Than Tong to overcome a deathly illness. Besides praying to Buddha, there are many other games involved during the festival.
15 - 20 The Co Le Pagoda Festival (Nam Dinh) - to thank the Buddhist priest, wizzard Nguyen Minh Khong, on on Buddha's teachings, and he was aslo the master of bronze metallurgy.
October
15 The Khmer "Thanksgiving to the Moon" - is held by the Khmer ethnic group of South Vietnam at the beginning of the New Year's Day, Khmer calendar (that is April). It involves visits to and ceremonies in pagodas, kite flying, dance and song performances, "du-ke" theatrical plays.
18-19 Nguyen Trung Truc Temple Festival (An Giang) - to remember Nguyen Trung Truc, a leader in fighting against France.
25 Nhi Khe - Ha Tay Village Festival - in memory of Mr. Doan Van Tai, the master of wood carving.
November
11 An Lu Temple Ceremony - to commemorate King Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, a famous king during the Tran Dynasty, won battles against the Mogolian Vikings.
18 - 19 The Trung Do Ceremonial Fetival ( Ha Tay) - to remember in honor and greatfulness of King Ly Nam De
25 The Dong Quan Oath Ceremonial Festival - Chan Tien Pagoda - Ha Noi
December
15 Ca Ong Ceremonial Festival - Khanh Hoa
20 Dinh Mai - Ha Tay Village Festival - to remember in greatfulness of General Ha Khoi aided General Dinh Bo Linh in destroying conflicts among other generals that wanted to divide the land of Vietnam into pieces.
23 Thai Duong Festival - Thua Thien Hue - a ceremonial festial for Thai Duong Goddess.
26-27 The Dau Pagoda Festival - Ha Tay - ceremony will be performed fo the Rain God, Well-water God, and Buddha for a good rainning year for the sake of agriculture.
