Cà Mau named after its capital city, it is the southernmost of Vietnam's provinces.
Being surrounded by sea on three sides, fishing is an important
industry in Ca Mau province. An extensive network of canals also
supports a strong agricultural sector, as well as providing a popular
means of transport.
Tourist Spots:
U Minh Forest, Dau Roi Bird Ground, Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi Island, and Ngoc Hien Bird Yard.
Ca Mau itself does not offer much of interest but anyone keen on botany or nature will find the swamps that surround Ca Mau an area of great interest. Unfortunately the area is a particulary good breading ground for mosquitoes which come out in force just after dark, especially during the rainy season. Some travellers find they need to sit under a mosquito net just to eat dinner. If you travel to Ca Mau, make sure you take plenty of insect repellant and that your hotel has effective mosquitoe net.
