Binh Thuan Climate

The average annual temperature is about 27°C. About 10% humidity during most of the year, Binh Thuan is the driest province in Vietnam. Most of its terrain consist of rocky mountains and sandy hills. Agriculture is almost non existent since few crops can grow on this arid land.

Phan Thiet City

Phan Thiet is a capital city of Binh Thuan, traditionally known for its "nuoc mam" (fish sauce) and fishing industry. Phan Thiet is built along both banks of the Phan Thiet River. The national high way 1 is runs right through town. In recent years, Phan Thiet (specifically Mui Ne Beach district) has been transformed into a resort destination. October 24, 1995 is considered to be the birth of tourism in Phan Thiet, when thousands rushed to Mui Ne to see the full solar eclipse.
