Bến Tre, is just south of My Tho province. The entire province is criss-crossed with a network of smaller rivers and canals. The extensive irrigation that this provides makes Ben Tre a major producer of rice, but also means that the area is prone to flooding. Ben Tre province is, on average, only 1.25 metres above sea level.

Ben Tre is famous for its vast coconut gardens, which cover a total area of 35,000ha and provide about 250 million coconuts annually. The industry generates 50 percent of the province's total industrial output value.

Ben Tre Climate

There are two distinct seasons: the rainy season beginning from May to November, during which there are torrential rains and strong wind between September and October, and the dry season from December to April. The average annual temperature is 26°C and the humidity level is quite high due to the presence of many rivers.
